Lease and counterpart.
Joseph Wright and Thomas Prickett of the parish of St. Saviour, Southwark (co. Surr.), iron-founders.
Hammer called Pophole Hammer with the pond called the Hammer Pond, and three cottages near adjoining to the hammer, in Linchmere and Frensham in Sussex [sic], and pond called the Furnace Pond, with the waterworks, dams, floodgates, etc. feeding the said pond in the North Parks in Linchmere and Fernhurst with the furnace now standing at the head of the said pond near the copyhold lands called Hatch Hill, together also with the water wheels, bellows, etc. belonging to the said furnace; and cottage standing near the pond head, and the liberty of the close of land adjoining thereto for the laying of coals, ore and mine thereon.
Covenant by the lessees to rebuild the furnace where the present one now stands'. The lease (no. 1443) is endorsed with surrender of this lease, 3 May 1774, and agreement of fresh lease (see James Goodyer).
