Born in "Bewuasyn Aunell", France in 1494, probably said he was Beauvaisin from Auneuil, Picardy, which is 14km SW of Beauvais. Age 50 in 1544
Came to England in 1510; had been in England 34 years in 1544
He was resident in Hartfield Hundred in the Rape of Pevensey, paying a tax on goods owned of 8d in 1524, when described as an alien, probably French. The list he is in was headed by Roger Machyn, who held Steel Forge, Hartfield and Birchden Forge, Rotherfield. (See Awty 1984 pp.44-5)
