Deed of Covenant
Between Maximilian Western of London, ironmonger, and John Fuller of Waldron, Sussex, esq., Whereby, after reciting that Thomas Western did some years since, in the name of his son Samuell Western, since decd., purchase to the said Samuell, but in trust for him the said Thos. Western, Collins Forge, 2 cottages and the pieces of land and other premises in Burwash (described in detail as before) And also the copyhold premises described and covenanted to be surrendered by deed of 30 Nov, 1664 (No. SAS-RF/1/4) Samuell Western never executed any deed declaring the trust for Thos. Western, and he had left William Western his only son and heir, an infant aged 6 years
Thos. Western had given his estate and interest in the premises to the said Maximilian Westerne
It was witnessed by the present deed that - in consideration of £200 paid by the said John Fuller for the absolute purchase of the premises - the said Maximilian covenanted within 17 years to procure a good title to be conveyed to John Fuller And that the said John Fuller might in the meantime hold and enjoy the premises with their rights and privileges without any rent
